Majella will be held on the first inter-meeting Marche - Abruzzo cycle excursionists.
The gathering will take place between the Valley and Giumentina the top of the blockhouse. These sites are representative of the Majella everything that has happened on the mountain mother, from Palaeolithic settlements of the Valley Giumentina, the hermitages of San Bartolomeo in Legio Celestine and St. John, to the buildings to combat banditry to the shepherds of Toulouse.

Itineraries - Mountain bike - Val Maone (crossing from Campo Imperatore Pietracamela to Montorio al Vomano)

This route is part of the route that connected, in past, the basin and then Aquilana with Pietracamela Teramo. You were leaving the pitch to Assergi Portella then went down to Campo Pericoli and Val Maone to Pietracamela. De Marchi, in 1573, describing the ascent to the peak 1 ^ Western Corno Grande, recalls that the villagers of Pietracamela descended the snowy slopes along the valley of the Portella, straddle rolls of cloth - the carfagni wool, which reached dall'Aquila Tuscany and European markets. In addition to control the steep descent of the Pretaroli used sticks and iron with the tip applied to the heel spurs, ancestors of the current spikes.

The route is entirely in the Park Nazionale del Gran Sasso and Monti della Laga and footpaths particularly crowded, so you must act accordingly without damaging the environment and respecting walkers (remember that those who go up the mountain takes precedence).
Val Maone is officially closed by order of the Mayor of Pietracamela ( here a very interesting ).
